Kalmbach Bead Soup Party

Ok, so here is for the last minute crunch!  Some time back I entered my name in hopes of getting to play with unknown beads as part of the Kalmbach Bead Soup Party.  Kalmbach Publishing was hosting this party in conjunction with the Bead Soup Party book being released.  They asked bead stores across the county to put together a little bead soup to share with random participants.  I was surprised when I received the bag of beads from them.  My beads came from the Beads by Powder Horn Trading Co. located in Kalispell, Montana.

The other side of the coin or the cowboys

So in my house we cheer for Oklahoma(OU) and Oklahoma State(OSU) unless they play each other, then it is OU all the way :).  So I made these earrings to wear to work.  Which I have sold both of these!

Earrings Red & Purple

I really need to learn how to name pieces!  I love these earrings.  They are lightweight and yet have sound and movement!  I have done a similar pair in red and white for the OU Sooners colors, however I sold them the day I wore them and a second pair also.  When I get the second pair completed will upload new pictures.

Monster Buddies

I was given the chance to test out some decoupage mediums with out knowing what brands they were.  I made 5 Halloween  pendents.  One sample for each of the decoupage type, and one with Mod Podge.

Second Creative Chaos Design Challenge, the reveal

It is the day of the reveal!  I received 4 baggies, and was supposed to use something from each baggie.  I failed.  My muse did not help until last night.  I did get 3 items made, with plans for 2 items from the last baggie.  I will update when I get it made, if I can get it made.  But here are the items I did get made.  Please forgive the quick pictures, it was (finally) starting to rain.

I also got my birthday present a little early(by a little early, I mean a week).  I got the Google Tablet - Nexus!  Love it!  Now if I just get the Square or Paypal app updated I am ready to sell!  Just a couple work days this week, took the weekend off to celebrate my birthday and play with beads!

Ashley's Birthday

So B had a birthday party to attend to. The plan was do give some money, as what teenager does not love getting money? We were going to give it to her all in ones, in some unusual package. Then the morning of the party, B asked if I can make her some jewelry to give also. Now we have had this invite for a month, an I asked her at the beginning if she wanted me to make her some jewelry. Nooo...she waits till the morning of....Have to love kids right? So I made her 5 pairs of earrings.

My tile necklace

I made me a tile necklace that I love.  I used a wood tile, and some beautiful accents.  The only think I did differently than the other tile necklaces I have made, is use glossy accents instead of Mod Podge Dimensional Magic.  I want to see how it compared. It worked, but harden cloudy, so not fond of it.  I will stick to Dimensional Magic from now on.

Test and learn, and I still love it.

I love the beach

I love the beach, I really do.  It seems to just ease stress and problems away.  Loved looking for sea shells, and sea glass.  I found lots of shells, and no glass.  Of course, now I like in Oklahoma, so no beach to drive too, but I still have sea shells.  Here are a line of earrings I am working on.  The first set is plain, and plan to add crystals to the second set.

Was thinking that birthstone crystal with these hearts would be cute.  What do you think?

Blue and Orange Take 1 & 2

So around here we have just a few favorite professional teams, well, 2 to be exact: The Denver Broncos (football) and Oklahoma Thunder (Basketball).  So it was really odd to discover that both of those teams colors are Orange and Blue.  Makes it easy to design jewelry, well maybe.  I have 2 earring in this colorway.  one that I like, and one that I kinda like....  So here is earring design one:

It is OK, just not sure if I like how it hangs.

Bailey's Pin collection

My daughter has a pin fetish(?).  She has lots of them, and doesn't like to wear them, as the tear clothes or fall off.  So I made her a necklace to hang them from.

Now looking back the solution was simple.  Just took me a while to figure it out.  

Nothing complex, just a chain and link.

I had thought about buying her a brooch converter, but paying that much for one piece that will get lost at least once....
