My tile necklace

I made me a tile necklace that I love.  I used a wood tile, and some beautiful accents.  The only think I did differently than the other tile necklaces I have made, is use glossy accents instead of Mod Podge Dimensional Magic.  I want to see how it compared. It worked, but harden cloudy, so not fond of it.  I will stick to Dimensional Magic from now on.

Test and learn, and I still love it.

I love the beach

I love the beach, I really do.  It seems to just ease stress and problems away.  Loved looking for sea shells, and sea glass.  I found lots of shells, and no glass.  Of course, now I like in Oklahoma, so no beach to drive too, but I still have sea shells.  Here are a line of earrings I am working on.  The first set is plain, and plan to add crystals to the second set.

Was thinking that birthstone crystal with these hearts would be cute.  What do you think?

Blue and Orange Take 1 & 2

So around here we have just a few favorite professional teams, well, 2 to be exact: The Denver Broncos (football) and Oklahoma Thunder (Basketball).  So it was really odd to discover that both of those teams colors are Orange and Blue.  Makes it easy to design jewelry, well maybe.  I have 2 earring in this colorway.  one that I like, and one that I kinda like....  So here is earring design one:
It is OK, just not sure if I like how it hangs.

And here is design 2:

Now these I like.

Opinions?? What do you think of either design?

Bailey's Pin collection

My daughter has a pin fetish(?).  She has lots of them, and doesn't like to wear them, as the tear clothes or fall off.  So I made her a necklace to hang them from.

Now looking back the solution was simple.  Just took me a while to figure it out.
Nothing complex, just a chain and link.

I had thought about buying her a brooch converter, but paying that much for one piece that will get lost at least once....

Here is a pin on the link:

And here is the pin hanging on the link.  It does hand straight, but hard to take picture one handed.

I have a couple more projects that I have managed to photograph, will update in the next few days.

Updates, and a New Challenge

I seemed to have been quiet on here lately, and I am sorry for that.  I have been making some jewelry,(not many pictures, will explain below), working, and working on setting up to sale my jewelry (still working on that part).  My sister-in-law has also started along the jewelry making path.  I have changed the blog around, hope you like it.

I have also added a link to my pinterest boards. I have added a board for just my jewelry, no pins yet but will get there.

I am trying to decide if I want to set up a business Facebook page.  As an extremely shy person, the thought of 'social media' is hard to do, but may be willing to try.

I did sign up to join in another challenge.  This one is from Creative Chaos.  No sneak peeks as of yet.  Am really excited.

So on to the jewelry part.  I made a pair of earrings and then wore them to work before taking pictures.  No biggie, I do it a lot.  I get an idea, make it, wear it, and then take a picture of it.  I had a lady stop me at work and tell me how beautiful my earring were.  That was the first time this had happened to me. She asked me where I got them, and I told her I made them.  So I gave them to her.  When I went home for lunch, I made another pair, exactly the same, which I had never done before.  I have made similar, but never exactly the same.  But I really like those earrings.  Then I gave them to my boss at work, who when telling her that story, said she could see why someone would stop me to look at them.  I was walking on cloud 9 for a couple days.

I did make some jewelry holders, and gifts for my niece's birthday will share those in later post.

And I believe that is all I have for today. However this is a blog, so some picture is needed. So I will leave you with a shot of my 5 am visitor, guarding my door one morning before work.
