Poppy Challenge Blog Hop

It is time for the Poppy Challenge Reveal Blog Hop! I am excited! I love working with the Poppy headpin.

I had an idea for a bracelet when I first received the headpins, however that did not work out. But then I had no idea what to do for about a week, will admit to mild panic for a couple days. However, I got busy at work and forgot about it for a day or two. Does this happen to anyone else with deadlines?

Here is what I wrapped up...

The vine circles are from Hobby Lobby, and the heart's are a gorgeous Cat's Eye Blue. I could not get that part to photograph. And now for a day off to wear them!

So my youngest niece and I had a conversation that went something like this:

E: You know the green necklace you made me?
Me: Not off the top of my head, why?
E: I love it
Me: That is wonderful, are you wanting another like it?
E: Yes, 2 for my friends because they love my necklace also.
Me: Well, next time you come over bring it, and we will see what I can do.

So I spend time trying to figure out the 'green necklace' that I made her was. Now she is only 7 years old, so I wasn't too worried about it. However, she keep bugging me about this green necklace. I start going through pictures, cause I have taken pictures of everything I have made. Finally find the pictures of this necklace, after multiple phone calls to niece & sister to confirm, in my to-be-sorted file. {I have since sorted this file at least}

I hope I have gotten a little better at pictures than this!

I have made her 3 different necklaces to choose from for her friends, in different colors as I seem to not be able to grab to many of any one item.

Think these will pass her approval? We shall see...

Sister's Birthday

So my sister's Birthday is tomorrow. I made her a pair of earrings, which I do not have pictures of as my hubby gave them to her while I was at work. So I am working on getting pictures of the earrings, but I am also making me a similar pair as they were gorgeous!

So I didn't get as much creative play time over the weekend as I had wanted. I did (sort of) get my desk ~~clean~~ cleaner.

And I got a pair of earring made, for B's friend's birthday.

Plus a bracelet, that I am not sure of how comfortable it is. So the daughter(B) opted to wear it for me today, to test it how. I love how it looks, just not sure of it wears/fits? So I guess it is a good thing I have a live in jewelry tester.

I do have a couple tile pendents in the works, that I should have ready to show you tomorrow or Thursday. Just waiting on the Dimensional Magic to dry.

Well, today is the reveal day for the Challenge of Color 2011 hosted by the lovely Erin of Treasures Found. I type on the keyboard unless the space in front of my keyboard is overflowing.

2. Typically how long does it take you to get ready in the morning?

For work - about 15 minutes, For nice dress up events about 30 minutes

3. Do you prefer lip gloss or lipstick?

I only use chap-stick

4. Do you take clothes to the dry cleaner or wash them yourself even if they say dry clean only?

I own no dry clean only, but would take them to the dry cleaner's

5. Do you prefer Wal Mart or Target.

New Updates

I know, I really need to work on my header lines. I do have some new jewelry to post.

I also am going to try a color challenge from Treasures Found. I love color. I read everything I can get on how to mix colors, then I do not use any of it. I stick to the same colors I know. I also thought this would help get me out of my rut I am in, where everything I make is already spoken for. Between new house, new job, new school, and family illness I have not had the time or energy to sit down and just play with my beads. Or clean my desk, where I could. I have gotten some wonderful new beads that make me happy just to look at them, but I want to play also. That is all in the plans for this Thursday!

I will get the pictures up of my Halloween earrings ( I know late), and hopefully a picture of B dressed up for Halloween. How was your Halloween?

I also have some cute Christmas earrings to finish taking pictures of, and then will post.

Button Bracelet #2

Here is the button bracelet I made for my daughter. I did make it in the Denver Broncos Colors for her.

Still working on her earrings. We never seem to agree on the length between what she wants, and what I will allow her to wear.

On another note, I did start a new job this past week, after being out of work for 2 almost 3 years. I love it but it is hard. I will get back to posting more as my hours become more regular.

I do wish I had been able to get one of them flying. Their wing span was huge!

Well today I spent finishing a set for my sister. Then attempting pictures, which didn't work. So I will get some pictures outside tomorrow. Soon (wishing) I will have a light tent of some sort to make it easier!

I also spent the day cooking a roast, washing dishes, and doing laundry. I plan on doing as little as possible tomorrow. It is my Birthday! I will be 36.

I don't know about you, but I am tired of the heat. Today the weatherman says we will get a break from the 105s, the high is 99. Oh well.

Here are a few goodies I made last night. Any opinions? The first pair, I made thinking about my sister's love for OSU, Oklahoma State Univ, not Ohio State. I do love to tease her about that. You see Oklahoma has two College football teams that divide the state in favorites, Oklahoma State(OSU) and Oklahoma(OU). She is a big OSU Fan, my house cheers for OU. OSU's colors are orange and black, while OU's colors are Red and White. However, Ohio State's colors are a red and white. Which means I can get her OSU items in red and white. Love it, well love to tease her about it anyway. :)

This next picture I was going for flowers. How do they look?

The next pair is one I made for my daughter. I will have to make these in other colors.

First day of 7th Grade

Today is the first day of B's 7th grade! This year she actually has her outfit picked out, and ready. She also ~~demanded~~ asked if I could make her a necklace and earrings to match her ring. She doesn't wear bracelets due to playing the clarinet, though not sure about how she will play with the ring on either. This ring is one she had found and bought herself during one of the bead shows to come to town.

Now for a funny story about all this. About this time last year I found a couple necklace bust I could afford (without giving up bead money, anyway :). So I go to get my necklace bust out to take a picture of the first necklace I had made since getting time...and the bust is black. So 3 black corded necklaces to photograph, and 1 bust that is also black. This is why I took the photo's on my lovely bamboo place mats.

I was hoping to have some sparkles to show you today, however, I am still unpacking. I do only have 3 boxes left for my beading stuffs. I am hoping to have so new items next week, and I have some cute bracelet items to work on before school starts back in session! I have had so many nice new items, and everything is in a box! IT will work out :).

I am also working on a blog button that I like, plus how to add a signature to the posts.

Sorry for the long absent, I really did not mean to be gone so long. I have spent the last 2 months packing, and then unpacking so we could move! Hopefully, things have calmed down around here for me to get to posting normal. So back to our regularly scheduled program :).

Fresh Fruit, though I love that all year long.

2. Do you tan at all? (tanning bed, outside, spray, etc)

No, no tanning. I burn quickly, so lots of sun screen for me.

4. Do you recycle?

I recycle what I can. We do not have a program where I live just yet, but we do reuse what we can.

5. How hot is it where you live today?

It is supposed to be about 90 F degrees, with chances of rain tonight.

We budget the bills and food, then the fun stuff gets decided after that.

2. Do you do spring cleaning and if so which month?

I do not spring clean normally, once a month I do one big clean sweep. Except this year during snow days we spring cleaned the closets!

3. Are you a yard sale lover and do you have them and go to them?

I love yard sales!! I do not have them as I currently live in an apartment, but daughter and me do go to them as often as we can!

4. What do you take when you have a headache?

For a normal headache I take ibuprofen, for a massive headache or migraine I take either Advil Migraine or this month I am trying Excedrin Migraine.

5. Name 3 things that you feel lucky to have in your life!

Sorry I missed the Hoo Are You update yesterday, please check out the blogs who did manage too! It was too cold here to think. I did spend the day organizing my beads, and working on my inventory. Doesn't that sound like fun?? I was going to take pictures, but the wind and 2 degrees outside said to stay inside! I do plan on sticking my head outside and see here shortly if the wind has at least slowed down.

On a side note, I won another blog giveaway!!

I won their Valentines Prize Pack! Go check out the Crafts Unleashed Blog! I have found lots of neat ideas on their pages!

I have been reading Night Owl Crafting blog for a few weeks, and decided to participate in her Tuesday's Link Party.

Here are this week's questions!

1. Do you wear glasses or contacts, if so for how long?
    I have been wearing (or supposed to be) wearing glasses since I was 21.
2. What was your favorite board game as a kid?
      I liked most board games but the ones I played the most were Yahtzee, Monopoly, and Card games (i.e. Gin or Rummy)
3. What is a word that you use all the time?
I know I use certain words a lot, but can not think of them right now. I also know that words or phrases will get stuck in   my head and for a while will be used a lot.
4. What is your favorite day of the week?
   Wednesday or Thursday, Hubby's current days off.
5. Did you graduate high school from the town you grew up in?
Yes. I grew up in Yukon, OK and graduated from Yukon High School.

Missing in Action part 2

Sorry, I seem to have gone missing in action again! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. There have been lots of things/changes going on at my house. After new year's is my daughter's b-day!

I have been busy, though not on designing or playing with beads. My New Year's resolution this year has been to get a organized inventory system that I can/will use. I am happy to say that I am about halfway though that! Did you make a new year's resolution?

I do have some new earring to share, plus I participated in a couple swaps with other beading friends! As though swaps get delivered, I will share.

OK, have are a few pairs of earrings, since that is what you are here to see, and not my rambling!

This first pair is Blue Hearts with a red crystal.

This second pair, I was playing around with. Love the multi-colors in a frame look more than I thought I would!

The third pair is a set of Blown Glass Beads with a couple accent crystals for accents.

So what do you think?

I will leave this as all for now. I am going to try to post a little more regularly. However, I will also note that for some reason we are having internet issues, so post may still be slow until Hubby gets that fixed!

Here is what I have been up to this week...

We had our first band concert. Doesn't she look so happy that I had the camera?? Of course, in her defense, this is probably about the 100 picture taken before the concert. Isn't that a nice picture? It is from my new camera,in a school gym, and across the room. I know could have been better, but my other camera couldn't do this :).

In other news, will have some beading stuffs to post tomorrow. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

I had a busy Morning on Friday. First I attempted to sleep in, just wasn't working. So then I sat down, and made a couple pairs of earrings. I have some of them in groups so there are not so many pictures posted. I am working on getting a "page" up on the blog to showcase different items I have made. I currently have bookmarks and cell charms. Will add more soon. All of these were taken with my new camera! Off to play with making some key chains.

I am so sorry to have been so quiet for the last month!! I just seem to be out of time lately. I have started working at Target for holiday money, so that is what is eating most of it up.

I do have or hope to have some new pictures for you on Friday! I participated in a Kris Kringle Bead Swap, and I have a lovely gift that I received today, plus I sent one that I hope my "mark" likes as well as I liked mine! This was My first swap of any kind, so really nervous!

Couple new items to point out. One, I added a button on the left for a group called BD Friends. These really talented ladies all have shops on a site called Shop Homemade with their wonderful wares. Please go visit them! Two, If you are not following Lyric's blog, she is home and the surgery went well! Thank you for your prayers!

Lyric

Lyric Nichols is 4 months old, she is the daughter of my good Friend Travis.

Lyric will be having open heart surgery in the next 2 weeks. Travis's Insurance is paying for most of the medical bills, but not all of them. Lyric's aunt explained to me that she will need two shots after surgery that are not covered under the insurance, and they are $900 each, and I am sure more charges like that will be piled on them.

There are a couple of fund raisers already underway here, but I am not sure how much money they can raise by selling cupcakes.

I know it is close to Christmas. I ~~will be adding~~ have added a Paypal button ~~in the next day or two~~. ALL Donations go straight to Lyric's medical bills.

Even if you can not send any money, please keep her and her family in your prayers.

Yeah, the title is correct I said Christmas presents. I know Halloween is 2 weeks away, but I have completed 1 niece's christmas presents! Now D, you are not allowed to show her this post if you share this with the kids!

So what do you think?? I have 2 maybe 3 more hair bows for her, 1 necklace, and 1 bracelet for her, and 1 niece is down!

Well, it has been a few days since I could post here. Unfortunately no new jewelry, bookmarks or anything crafty. I have been fighting allergies and they are winning. I did make some new tags for my display.

Few new things for today.

1) Did you see my cute bat I found? The Hector Bat was created by Tana Cox. I found it on her blog called Birdseeds.

2)I added an email button on the left side.

3) I added a slide show bookmarks of the right side.

4) I completed 4 black bookmarks. I had to push myself to not just fall on the ole' black and red color combination. So I hope you enjoy. Of course this means just one more color of bookmarks to go. I guess I should explain this a little. See my sister was showing off the bookmark ~~she stole~~ I gave her. That started a list of 5 colors that a co-worker of my sister might want to purchase for Christmas presents. So, me being the overachiever that I have a tendency to be, decided that there needed to be at least 4 of each color for her to choose from. That led me to finally start a blog, so it would be easier to show pictures of what I create. So here we are.

I think this is all for today. I may post the necklace/bracelet/earring set my mother gave my Aunt Bea for her birthday. Tho I can say that most of my mother's Christmas gifts are made....at least the ones for her to give. Now to just work on my list.

Mom's Birthday Part 2

I finished a necklace and a bracelet for my mother. Both were new style to me (and would have been to her). Since she knew I was making her something, I took them to her house to show her. She loved them both. I told her i had to bring them back to get pictures, but some how she managed to keep the bracelet. But I do have picks of the necklace for you. It is about 32 inches long!

The next color on the book mark list is Hot Pink. I have 5 hot pink book marks. The first one was the hardest to photograph as one side of the ribbon is hot pink and the other side is red.

The other 4 the ribbon is just hot pink.

So three colors left to work on Black, Red, and Sage Green.....Any votes which first?

I am so excited I won something. A couple days ago I found the Pink Persimmon blog and they had a giveaway for a Plaid Gift pack everyday for 7 days. So I entered everyday, never thinking I would win as they had tons of people entering everyday. But I won one of the gift packs!!!!! So now I get to stalk the mailman to receive this gift pack. I am not sure what is in it, but as I love Mod Podge and Plain paint, I imagine I will love everything in it.

Hello. Welcome to my blog!?! Stay tuned to how this turns out. Though beware I will be changing a lot in the beginning as I learn what I can do. :)

As a first post, I am going to attempt to add a couple pictures of some recently made items. Interesting story about these 2 pairs of earrings. Yesterday my sister stopped by to borrow a hot glue gun, and decided to rummage through my earring stash, as she said she needed some new pairs to wear to work. And as little sisters are always doing, she picked out my favorite pair. So I ended up making her a couple pairs.
